Diversity

Diversity is at the forefront of the leadership agenda, with the belief that a more inclusive workforce and leadership team will foster better governance and decision-making, and lead to sustained competitive advantage.

At SES, we drive this agenda with our placements, and a significantly higher proportion of our shortlists, being diversity candidates. We are enabling our research teams and are training them to develop a diverse slate of candidates for each search. We have developed through our network, significant databases, particularly of female candidates in leadership roles across industries in India. This apart, we have conducted and offer bespoke diversity mapping and search services for various multinational and Indian companies. We know that a diverse and inclusive workforce contributes to improved efficiency, stronger governance and greater innovation within businesses.

At senior management and leadership roles, a lot of time is invested in sourcing the exact fit, a cultural misfit is detrimental to the organization. 

We aim to ensure that our candidate search and selection processes are inclusive and representative of a wide range of backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. We actively source candidates from a variety of channels, including traditional networks, industry associations, diverse affinity groups, and online platforms. 

We craft job descriptions that use gender-neutral language and focus on skills and qualifications rather than gendered or biased terms. We assess candidates based on their potential to contribute to the organization’s diversity and inclusion goals.

Due Diligence

With the increase in experienced executives approaching corporates directly, as well as the increasing financial and reputational risks arising from senior executives, the importance of formal and informal reference checking is more important than ever before. Our standalone forensic service offering is designed to minimize the risk – and associated costs – of making the “bad hire”. We discreetly and thoroughly assess identified candidates by speaking to their business associates, combining this with publicly accessible information to produce a report on the candidates’ experience, style and reputation to aid decision making. This service is often used as a complement to the formal reference checking, evaluation and verification efforts, with the objective of providing a holistic view on candidates.

Environmental, Social, and Governance

ESG integration is an ongoing process that requires consistent effort and adaptation. We implement energy-efficient technologies, reduce paper usage, and minimize waste generation in our office operations. We encourage hybrid work to reduce commuting and carbon emissions. We consider partnering with suppliers who follow sustainable practices and have environmentally friendly products. We prioritize diversity and inclusion in our hiring processes. We aim for a workforce that represents different backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives. We engage with our local community through volunteer initiatives, internships, or collaborations with educational institutions. We foster an ethical corporate culture by promoting fair practices and adherence to ethical guidelines in decision-making.
